A common, and, sadly, perpetuated misinterpretation of the specs. The total load is 540 watts, maximum, at the ac receptacle. This is the UL spec for the equipment. The total dc capacity of the PSU, whether it is an 8600 or a 9600, is 390 watts. This is the manufacturer's spec for the PSU. The PSUs for the 8600 and the 9600 identical.
