Get yourself a B&W rev. 2 for less than $150.00 usually and a 500MHz G4

Do you say that solely because of the 50MHz (9600) vs. 100MHz (B&W) bus
speed difference? Does the bus speed bottleneck really mean that a 500MHz
CPU will outperform an 800MHz one? Does anyone have, say, MacBench numbers
we could compare for these?
In a CPU benchmark test, the 800 on a 50Mhz bus will outperform the 500, but benchmarks lie.
In real life, the 500 will probably perform better, as real life is a lot more dependent on I/O. 2X the I/O performance means a lot, particularly memory.
My guess is it's time to retire the 8500 as is, or to *nix of some flavor.
As an aside, I'm wondering if the reduction in traffic on this list is due
to people fleeing en masse to B&Ws, now that they're so cheap. <shrugs>
Yeah. These old beasts are getting OLD.
