I would like to transfer some RAM DIMMs from a beige G3 Power Mac to a Blue & White G3 Power Mac. They look similar, and appear to be able to physically fit. But the specs say that 3.3 volt DIMMs should be used in the beige machine. The Blue & White and its subsequent models use 5 volt ones. Will the 3.3 modules work in the B&W? Is the B&W or the DIMMs likely to be damaged if I try it out? --Art Sable.

They do indeed look similar. But have you tried hold the DIMM up to the B&W slot. One of the notches is in a slightly different position. It really have been over more, the difference is slight enough you might force it in. But it is different.
