I, too, am locked into IE 5.1.x for most of my Macs (except for my G3, which
could use a Mozilla/clone under 8.6 -- I have several on CDs from magazines,
but they all seem to be either too buggy or the installer won't install for
some reason (Moz 1.2.1). I did try iCab for a while, but having to download
& install a new copy every few months really put me off. And, as has been
said, it does CSS very poorly. Netscape 4.x is also out of the question, for
that reason, and others.) So I have to admit, IE 5 does a pretty good job,
for its age.

It's also the only IE that my service provider lets me gather my web mail
with (aside from the aforementioned), due to a JavaScript thing, I guess.

But recently I logged to my current ISP (sbc.yahoo) and the dorky front they
have for web mail warned me that, while it still works, "For the best
experience using Yahoo!, we recommend that you upgrade to the latest version
ofSafari or Mozilla" I guess the writing is on the wall for IE there, too.

(It also has a really inconvenient forms bug, with the insertion point
shifting to another field while a page is still loading, if you're typing
into one at that time, resulting in garbled sign-in/passwords. But the
auto-fill help make up for that (somewhat).)
