>Problem with installing OS onto 7300/G3/160/2

It starts up fine with an OS9.1 CD, initializes the 2 Gig HD fine, but as
the installer goes to work it stops about half way in and goes dead. I've
tried leaving it for a very long time (1-2 hours) just to see if it was
doing something, but it never finishes. I've tried several times, and also
tried OS8.1 and 8.6 -- both do the same. I've also done low-level format --
seemed to be fine. On repeated attempts the installer seems to hang at
>different points (sometimes 5 minutes into it, other times 15... and so on).

can you start from the floppy ???

everytime this happened to me it has been a bad low level format that was the reason.

but bad scsi cable and cd lens seems also possible.

tried another HD ?

Lovek
