>on my 7300 I had a bad vrambank.
the screendoor would only show at 256 colours,
I experimented with shuffling the vram dimms and ended up with just
using 3 out of for banks and leaving one of them empty,
and it worked, a little circuit was blackened,
so I did not use the bank next to that one - and it worked, of course
at a lesser amount of wram - but it worked. nothing wrong with the
vram dimm but the bank was bad.

The VRAM banks are as follows:

7200: three sockets; either none, one or three may be filled, no other
combinations are valid.

Others which have VRAM: four sockets; either two or four may be filled,
no other combinations are valid.

If you smoked one VRAM position, then only two are usable.

yeah someone told me that later aswell, thanks, it was like with errors when I bought it. L
