> on my 7300 I had a bad vrambank.
the screendoor would only show at 256 colours,
I experimented with shuffling the vram dimms and ended up with just
using 3 out of for banks and leaving one of them empty,
and it worked, a little circuit was blackened,
so I did not use the bank next to that one - and it worked, of course
at a lesser amount of wram - but it worked. nothing wrong with the
vram dimm but the bank was bad.

I'd be surprised if the unmatched one was doing anything? But I don't
*know*, I read 2 or 4 in my manuals (I think) for my 7300 and 7600...

David Elmo

yes I read that too, it was a long time ago and I just left it in for safe keeping - the 4 one I left in a static bag, behind the drivebay.
see I tend to loose things if I put them apart from each other - ;) I also keep ALL the foods in the refrigerator or I will forget that I have it, and it will go to waste, piled under something, ....

a totally not needed comment, on a lovely winters day.
