I always forgot to turn on my external SCSI CD, and I need to restart the Mac after I turned on the external SCSI CD. Is there a way to mount the CD without restarting the Mac?

Will the icon show when you turn it on ?
If not open drive setup wait for the scan report. Select the drive and go to functions menu/mount volume. or select drive and press COMMAND _ M
keys.
