This may be the wrong list to post this question, but it seems to be the most popular list.

I stopped in a local Mac store today and found a Blue and White G3 for sale. It had 128 Mb RAM, a 6 GB hard drive and OS 8.6 installed. The thing that peaked my interest was the fact that it had a Sonnet G4/800 Mhz CPU upgrade installed. They are asking $350 for it. I am currently saving for a family vacation, so purchasing it outright is kinda out of the question.

However, I do have a 500 Mhz Blue Dalmatian iMac that does not get much use. I am thinking about offering it as a trade in.

A quick check at everymac.com states that this particular G3 came with SCSI, although other configurations were available. I would like to move away from SCSI since I have a 40 GB ATA drive laying around.

I would really appreciate any advice I can get as far as value of each system, and the expense in adding a ATA card to the G3 if I can manage to get it.

Thanks,

Kevin
