Have you verified this in practice? With before and after tests? I tried
this and had big ram disks (because I have big memory) and I could not see
any improvement. Been meaning to do it again more carefully but I need
encouragement with more detailed experiences... I was amazed that my back
button did not work instantly as it should surely. The *theory* is
attractive but...

For folks with little memory (128 or less) it may be they can ill afford to
spare it for non essentials...
