I used Ram Doubler and Speed Doubler 8 (sp?) for years, and they worked well enough. Not as well as real RAM and a G4, obviously, but they did work as advertised. Ramdoubler is a more sophisticated form of virtual memory, and also uses some RAM for items that are more frequently accessed to make it quicker than Apple's VM.
