I don't think this is sleep mode, the HD is still spinning as though
running at full operation. In order to turn it off safely I can hold the
power button in until it soft-offs, then if I keep the button pressed it
stays off and I can pull the power chord.
Otherwise, if after the soft-off I release the button it just switches
back on, but doesn't always boot again, just spins up.

When I cleaned it I only opened the case and didn't move the motherboard
or ram, however, I have now replaced the system, reopened the case & reset
all the RAM (all the RAM corresponds with the values reported in the AS
Profile) and still it's behaving the same.

Any thoughts ?

Andy
