As it happens, Gauge Pro picked it at the 6th iteration on the last occasion (but not at all on previous occasions where my patience ran out). I have had faults in the past where I have had to go over 1200. As I explained to Glen in another reply, I have solved the severe prob by yanking all out and reseating in a different box. I did my own quick and dirty method of testing each stick by seeing if it, on its very own, (no other stick in any other slot) would boot the machine and enable opening of apps and restart and shutdown. This is quick enough but not the best. I have a test rig in a back room and it can test sticks over longer periods and yes, according to many of the algorithms you have so soundly explained. I must use it! And build a set of trusted Dimms... Today it was pleasure to turn on my machine and watch it boot first up like I always was used to till the last few months...
