Notice of Race

1. RULES

The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (2005-2008), the
prescriptions of U.S. Sailing, the ICSA Procedural Rules as modified by the
Notice of Race and by the sailing instructions, all of which supplement and
modify the former.  

 

2. ELIGIBILITY 

One team from each qualified PCCSC school may attend.  Teams shall consist
of female sailors only.

 

3. SCHEDULE:  

 SATURDAY, April 22

               SUNDAY, April 23

4. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

Sailing Instructions will be provided at registration.

 

5. BOATS AND SAILS:

Boats and sails will be provided by the UCSB Sailing Team.  In the event of
a breakdown the race committee may replace a boat, sail or part thereof at
any time during the round robin.

 

6. FORMAT:

Two round robins will be attempted.  Three races per division will
constitute a series.

 

7. ROTATIONS:

The race committee may finish a boat still racing in her current position if
that boat will delay the start of the next race. Such boats shall proceed
immediately to the next start or rotation.

 

8. SCORING:

Scoring will be in accordance with PCCSC and ICSA rules.

 

9. SAFETY:

Santa Barbara Channel is a open-ocean venue.  Each competitor is responsible
for providing adequate clothing and safety equipment for herself.  PFD's
shall be worn at all times while on the water.  

 

10. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS
rule 4, Decision to Race.  The organizing authority will not accept any
liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in
conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

 

11. HOUSING:

Competitors will need to provide their own housing.
