We are excited about the enthusiasm and encourage new teams to join College
Sailing! Everyone should do everything that they can to help new teams form,
grow and develop. With that said there are a few requirements and rules that
must be adhered to.

1. A college sailing team MUST be recognized by the University and
provide contact information for a Graduate "Advisor" who is familiar with
the teams status with the institution.
2. The first step for a team is to provide contact information on the
www.collegesailing.org <http://www.collegesailing.org/> website on the
Teams Database. If an entry for a school does not exist I should be
contacted and I will have one created. The information on the website should
be as complete as possible.
3. Team members must also register on the Individual Database on the
website. This requires a Team Administrator. (See the website or contact me
for more information)
4. There will be dues (Both team and Individual) that will need to be
paid. In many cases these can be recovered through ICSA grants for new
teams.
5. A new team joins a Conference of the ICSA initially as an Associate
Member. Associate Member schools can compete in most of our "open" events.
However, they are not eligible for Conference Championships and thus
Nationals Championships. Sloop PCC's is a Conference Championship and the
North and South Elims are qualifiers for this championship and thus
Associate Member Schools are not eligible for Sloops.
6. Only by a vote of the PCCSC Regular Membership and after fulfilling
certain criteria can a school become an official Conference Member and/or
advance in membership. This takes time and for good reason.

At our Scheduling Meeting in September we voted to welcome some new teams as
Associate Members. It will be until late January at our Annual Meeting that
we will have another opportunity to formally vote in additional new members
and/or consider advancing the membership status of existing members. In the
mean time we have generally welcomed teams to attend our open events if they
have fulfilled some of the other expectations.

Please make sure that new teams contact me about their status and
eligibility for various events.
