i don't know peter....all i can say is i recently formatted my hard drive
and installed everything clean....so i KNOW i am running office 2k with
absolutely no updates or patches at all......and i appear to have one of the
more problem free installations that i've seen......so, i'm going with my
favorite credo:
if it ain't broke, DON'T fix it
i'm getting a brand new machine next week and will be turning one of the old
ones into a total beta/patch tester........it's the only way i know to
figure out which version of what works best without crashing my important
machine constantly
boy am i excited about my new machine.....for the first time in my life, i'm
getting one completely designed for MY needs.....no more of this OEM crap
for me :-)

Wow, what a mess. Did you know that all the security features in Outlook
2000 from the SP2 are the defaults in Outlook XP? I truly feel sorry for
all my admin buddies dealing with Office traps on their networks, I
remember all the traps involved between Office97 SR1 and SR2's y2k fixes
which caused innumerable headaches.
What other problems have occurred between the rest of the Office suite and
SP2?
