To one and all, I have gotten a *** MAJOR *** problem with Acess97 that no one else has seen before, and I have absolutely no idea where to find the answer!!! At work, I have been working with one of the contractors who knows Acess97 (abrev A97 in rest of message) better than I do, and have been working with him on a database I am developing. He has NT4 on his system. Today, I was going to work on some issues on my own system, which is running Win2K but has Office97 on it - the version of Office97 is a multisite license copy, so the whole organization can use the same licensed CDs for installing. When I went and opened my database that I am working on, and wanted to import a Excel97 spreadsheet into the database, low and behold, THERE WAS *** NO *** IMPORT CAPABILITY FOR SPREADSHEETS OR TEXT FILES!!!! This is TOTALLY weird, so went and uninstalled Office97 off my system, reinstalled it, and the same exact problem is still occurring in A97 - no import!!! So installed Office97 from the same CD on a Win2K system at the consultants area and Office97 install as expected - and A97 has full import capability as expected. No one where I work has ever seen this problem before with A97, and I certainly have not seen it - only on my system. I even went into the registry and deleted every reference to Office97 I could find in every registry entry, and re-installed again - NO HELP!!!! So does anyone have any idea of what might be causing the whole import problem with A97??? I looked at Microsoft's support page and searched their database and got nowhere with trying to find an answer (maybe phrased my problem wrong). Or where the settings, especially for import and export filters, for the various Office97 products are kept, such as for Word, Excel, as well as A97???? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!
