Helene, I'd love to help, but all I can do is sympathize. I used
Netscape for years (since version 2) but by last fall I'd had all I
could take of their "illegal operations" and just bailed out. So did a
lot of other people (look at the figures). I assume you're using
version 4 in some form (according to reports version 6 is totally
unusable). Some people have solved the problem by periodically
uninstalling and reinstalling. But who needs to live with that? It
seems that AOL took the world's best browser and gave it the kiss of
death.
Some of the experts on this list may be able to give you more
sophisticated advice than this, but my own crude advice is to give your
computer a good dose of salts and get rid of every last trace of
Netscape. Spring cleaning :-)
