Yesterday, I added 128 MB to the 64 I already had, bringing my total RAM to
192MB. I did not reinstall Windows but noticed a definite speed improvement
in certain functions.

The only thing that may require adjusting is the swap file (virtual memory)
size. This would only be necessary if the user had specified his/her own
swap file settings, as opposed to allowing Windows to manage it. To see your
swap file settings, right click on My Computer and left click on Properties.
Click on the Performance tab and then on the Virtual Memory button. If the
second option is selected, the size may need adjusting (mine did) as it is
generally recommended to be a function of the total amount of RAM.
