On my PC I have one had disk with two partitions: C and D.
Now I was trying to compress thiese disk but only with partial success. When
I compressed D drive everything was OK. But when I tryed to compress C drive
problems started. Compression program reported this error while it was
controlling drive for error:
>Drive C contains errors that must be corrected before
>the drive can be compressed. To correct them, run
>ScanDisk.
>
>ID Number: DRVSPACE306
Following this instruction I run ScanDisk with parameters set as it was
recommended in help file that was automatically shown and ScanDisk finished
controlling with reporting that everything is OK! Reported no errors, no
fixing done, not finding any bad clusters. After this, with lot of hope, I
started compression again, but with same result.
Next step was to run ScanDisk in DOS mode from Startup Disk, again with same
result.
At this point I was VEEEERY disappointed. My next move was to format C drive
and to install windows98 again. The problem did not disappeared. Over and
over same error.
Anybody have some ideas what can be in matter and how to deal with this?
Thanks!
