This is probably a function of your video card. If they are not the same,
then I would almost bet thats the problem. I have some games (old win 3.1
type) that works fine on my desktop with an older video card, but gives
background overlays in some of the windows on my laptop. You might see if
there is a setting for dos that goes with your card, other wise, you may
need to contact the vendor to see if there might be a bios setting that is
needed.
