Yes, I am on a number of mailing lists, genealogy-related, and if a small amount is there the post will go through, especially permitting links to websites, if too much is in the message (stationery comes to mind) the server will reject and return it to the sender instead of distributing the post. Frankly, I never send a fancy email and still don't like to receive them even from family. I love sharing photos with family but fully expect to receive advance notice they are being sent. I give the same notice.
