I'm not exactly sure what happened, Harold.....but the data key is what
controls most of the settings in Word....toolbars, title bar, menus,
etc......and it often gets corrupt......so, you delete it and Word makes a
new one

downside is if you have any custom toolbars, you have to make them
again........but, I'm glad it fixed your problem :-)

Subject: PCWorks: MSWord 95 and the Restore button

Problem: The restore button (upper right hand corner) works for the lower
portion of Word, but when clicking the
main restore button (that's the upper portion of the window), the window
minimizes. After it minimizes it doesn't
open when clicking the taskbar button. The only way to open it is to
right-click the taskbar button and click
Maximize (the only option available).

Linda's Solution: HKEY-CURRENT-USER/Software/Microsoft/Office/Word/7.0 and
delete the Data key.

By golly, by jeeze (amd Moses too) ... it worked..What other problems does
deleting that data key solve? Exactly
what happened there?
