Ed, what kind of modem is it? I will be willing to bet it is a PCI winmodem.
Also have her check her phone line for noise. You do this by putting a phone
on the jack and pressing one button, then listen for any noise on the line.
If there is noise this will cause these problems. I also had a customer with
these problems and her cause was she had a message service that beeped the
line constantly until the message was answered...rich
