Keith! Thank you for your response but the problem has been solved by
renaming the file mfc42d.dll to the extension of .old and after rebooting
not only did take care of this problem but an Explorer in valid page fault
error when I deleted temp files and unnecessary registry key values,
strings etc. Since that adjustment my "pitiful" Win95 box is humming along.
