Machine: Compaq Presario PII, Win98 First Edition, 128RAM, 5.89G free disk
space. No software installed or removed recently. Norton showing no
viruses, disk 3% fragmented, registry check shows no unassociated files.

In the past 2 days, I have received 3 error messages--2 from Eudora and one
from Netscape. Each time, the message begins:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.

Clicking on "details" gives me the following info:
Invalid page fault in module Kernel32.DLL at (varying locations)

The main problem seems to be that I cannot close the error window.
Ctrl, alt, delete also will not work when this happens. Strangely enough,
the programs that have _caused_ the error still work--I just have to move
that error screen around to get to the controls to close the program.

Then I've had to reboot the machine to get rid of the error window.

I've been searching through MS Knowledgebase, and haven't found this
specific problem addressed.

Anyone have any thoughts on how I can correct this?

TIA,
Sue
