I have Windows 98 system. I got an external HP cd burner. I saved many cds worth of files, saving them to be read with my computer so I could access them just like a hard drive. However, I have a new computer and wonder if there is a way for my new computer's cd burner to read these files. I am not able to hook up the HP cd burner again because when the computer technician did, it caused major problems and the computer had to be reformatted. I also tried to rehook the cd burner to my old computer and it caused major problems there also. The old computer wasn't really exactly the computer it was connected to before because it now has different hard drive than the one it was using.
To make a long story short--I don't want to attempt to use the cd burner in any computer at all--I will call HP to see how to repair or replace drivers in the cd burner or whatever. I just need to find out a way to access all these files I have since the methods I had hoped to use are history. PLEASE HELP!! Thanks.
