I was just trying to trouble shoot a friend's Dell PIII 800, which is less
than a year old. When Scandisk or Norton Disk Doctor 2001 reaches 28% in
diagnosing the hard drive (a ST330630A) the whole systems locks up. I would
guess it is a bad sector on the drive, but why a lockup?? Any suggestions?
