NOT true. It will only work for file extensions that already have a file 
association (like HTML). To prove this to yourself, open Notepad, type 
something, and save as "test.121". Unless ".121" has a file association, 
Notepad will save this as "test.121.txt"

See my original reply to pcworks for how to add file associations to 
Notepad (or any other program).
