Ralph, DO NOT install a filter on the Data Cable that you connect to your DSL modem. I use a splitter "Y" at the wall plug to separate the Phones and Modem. The DSL line filter is to be installed ONLY on the line going to each phone, fax, etc. These are the instructions for my WESTELL SBC modem.
