OE automatically converts binary attachments to MIME.

You will see something like this in the headers of a e-mail that has a MIME 
attachment sent by OE.

 > X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2600.0000
 > X-MIMEOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2600.0000
(These are ones I just read in Eudora trying a test using OE6).

OE 5.5 should show something like
 > X-MIMEOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V5.50.4522.1200
