Liz....I have a Plextor 16/10/40 on my computer which is an AMD 850 and the
16 doesn't "hurt my computer" at all......I don't know who told you that or
what they meant

I'm not even close to a hardware expert, but everyone I know and respect
says Plextor is the best.....and I love mine......I can run photoshop,
cruise the web, print something, play a game, and read email all at the same
time WHILE burning a CD....the Plextor is pretty flawless IMO

Subject: PCWorks: ISO a good cd writer

Hi
I am in the market for a CDWriter.. there are so
many out there .. I do not have a clue as to what
is good..
Actually it is one of my Christmas gifts from my
DH.. and we are stumped as to which one..

Some say H/P.. Plexter.. and then others Yamaha..
sigh..

My computer is..
Pentium 3 866 Processor 257M Ram 8.4 Gig HD
and I am using Windows 98 SE..

I was told that if I go higher than a 12X it would
harm my computer ..

Any & all help would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks so very much..
