A friend had the same symptoms on her E-Machine for several weeks prior to a
complete power supply fan failure. The fan locked up, and replacing the
power supply solved the problem.

Does anyone have an answer, or experience of this phenomenon? Recently my PC
(P166, Ami Bios, Win98se) has been switching itself on spontaneously at
random intervals after being closed down
