Barry I don't think you're alone in this regard, I think you are alone in that you talk to your hat but not with this issue :-) And with file wiping you should know that if you are interested in not having any data retrievable from a hard drive you have put through fdisk, then you should consider using Symantec's gdisk which can produce DOD drive wiping very quickly and efficiently. A good tutorial can be found here http://www.drd.dyndns.org/gdisk.html. It is also worth mentioning that with the current release of gdisk one can create 4gb FAT16 partitions using 64k clusters for use with NT4, not that you might ever have a need to do so but just that you can.
