Hi Viveca ... and all other members of this delightful forum, You say that when typing in a link, you will get it as a hyperlink. To remove it, all you have to do is highlight it and then click, "insert" up at the menu and select "hyperlink." At the bottom you will see a button that says "remove hyperlink." Just click that and then OK.
And you are right, but I was looking to make it a more permanent configuration so that it never becomes a hyperlink. I need that arrangement for backing up all the URL's I have on my web site. What Linda (Computer Tutor) suggests is as follows (I've outlined it to make it easy to follow): 1. Go to Tools>Autocorrect and click on the "Autoformat As You Type" tab. 2. Remove the check from the box that says "Internet and Network Paths with Hyperlinks" 3. Click on the "Autoformat" tab and remove the same check. You have to remove it in both places My next question is, how does this woman know so much about a program that maybe took 50 men at Microsoft to develop (maybe hundreds, who knows!). I've been at the computer 6 years and am still learning how to copy/past (just kidding). But I know *nothing* compared to her, who I understand, is computering no longer than I am. And I thought woman are supposed to be at home cooking and cleaning and doing all that domestic stuff that my mother did ... times certainly have changed. <smile> I *better* show a smile, wink, LOL, and all the other expressions before getting a ton of email vitriol.
