Hi, here's Grandma Ann again with a stupid question...........I just spent about two hours proofreeding and correcting a long article that my grandson wrote for the advertising company that he works for. It took me about two hours, as I made suggestions as well as corrections. All my corrections and suggestions were typed in red so that he could find them easily. When I finished this long article (actually it is for a political website that a US senator is creating!), I clicked on Save As, and gave it the name of my grandson. I saved it to my desktop so that it would be easy to find. Then I typed a letter to him and sent it as an attachment. I always send a copy of my emails to myself. When mine arrived, I clicked on the attachment up at the top, and a blank Wordpad page came up. I had used Wordpad. I should have checked to make sure that it was saved to my desktop, but I didn't.
Now I can't find the copy that I worked on so laboriously for several hours anywhere!!!! Of Course I can do it over as I still have the copy that my grandson sent to me, but it will take sooooooo long. (Incidentally, I am a retired English teacher.....taught English for 41 years.) Now, here's my dumb question. Is there ANY WAY that I can find my original copy that I had proofread and corrected? I am sure that there is software that I could buy for this purpose, but is there any way I can do it now without expensive software?
