Gerry and others,

On the subject of ZoneAlarm, was wondering if you have seen the following
problem, and if you have, if you might any kind of solution to what
caused/how to solve:

I bought ZoneAlarm Pro for a friend of mine - he is currently running
Win98SE. Originally the program worked absolutely great for quite a period
of time, as expected, without any problems of any kind.

Unfortunately, one day a week or so ago, the program started acting as I
have never seen - it started asking about every single connect to the
internet, including every one that had happened previous. This became
non-stop no matter where you were connecting. Even if you told it to
remember, it would ask (and ask and ask and ask and ...) if it should
allow. No matter what I tried to do, including uninstalling and reverting
back to the older version (had upgraded to the new version), would stop
this problem from happening. It REALLY started to drive us both nuts, and
finally I had to totally uninstall ZoneAlarm Pro from his system, and
install the firewall that comes now with OnTract's SystemSuite package,
version 4 - the newest version (since I had installed ZoneAlarm on his
system, originally did not install OnTract's firewall from that package.)
This obviously stopped the ZoneAlarm problem BUT I really wish I could
figure out what in the world could have caused this problem to begin with,
since ZoneAlarm has always been an absolutely great package to use.

Any ideas of what caused / how to solve???

Ralph
