One of my computers, which I originally put together as a music file (MP3) server, is becoming my favorite (most used) CPU. Originally I installed a 1.5 gig older drive which already had Windows 98 installed and a new 60 gig to hold all my MP3's (which get fed to an AudioTron through my network). I recently added a 40 gig as a third hard drive and installed Windows XP Pro on it in a dual boot configuration. Like it and it seems to work great either way (well, let's put it this way.... Windows 98se is not any better or worse than it was). I need to keep Windows 98 available because I have older hardware connected to the computer which is not, and probably never will be, supported by Windows XP.
When I installed Windows XP, it never checked the other drives for installed software (installed under Windows 98). My questions is this: Is there a way to have Windows XP find and register software installed on my Win98 drive? I really don't want to have to have two copies of needed software installed on the sampe computer..... ============= PCWorks Mailing List ================= Don't see your post?
