Patricia, have you tried running the IE repair? Go into Start / Settings / Control Panel / Add/Remove and click on Internet Explorer, then choose to repair IE. Also open IE and go to Tools / Internet Options... / and delete your Temporary Internet Files. Reboot your system and try again.
