Jeff, it is better to do HTML editing with notepad because word pad will insert extra information into the pages for it's document format. You cannot enter markup in Word, you can convert a word document to HTML but it inserts a lot of junk you don't want in your code, mainly MS XML. I have seen some Word documents balloon up to over 1mb in size when converted to HTML. If you want notepad to be more flexible and robust then I suggest you use MetaPad which can replace notepad entirely which I do on my 98 system. It's a small (46k) free download and I heartily recommend it: http://www.liquidninja.com/metapad/
Another text editor which is quite robust but is larger than MetaPad is NoteTab Lite which is quite popular for some other developers I know. It can be had here: http://www.notetab.com/ntl.htm Peter Kaulback In the hour of 12:23 PM 6/23/2002 -0400, Jeff Dougherty spoke this: >Good day all. >I have this program the encodes email addresses to prevent BOT's from >pulling them >from your web site for SPAM. >Problem is, if I insert the code into note pad, all works, but when I need >to edit >other items in Word pad, it converts the special coding back to an email >address. >Is there a way in MSWord you can enter 'html markup' like Front Page >Express?
