Depending on the CD burning software, it may be trying to autostart.  I
have WinOnCD and when I place a blank cd in the drive, it will
automagically start.  If I turn off the autostart, then it doesn't
startup.  In your case, I suspect that your burning software is trying
to start and there is a problem with it.
