Hi Marlene, This is a new one to me. I have a large number of associates who like you suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome and have switched to the 3M Ergonomic mouse http://www.3m.com/ergonomics/ergonomicmouse.jhtml. It takes a little getting used to but it is really quite good. Some others have switched to using tablets with great success as well, http://www.wacom.com/index2.cfm. Hope you find something that benefits you well.
