And if it IS XP, you don't need to turn off the screensaver to
defrag....XP's defrag allows other things to run while it runs....no
need to turn off anything

it the regular way?  Go to display properties, then open the
'screen saver' tab.  Set that to 'none', then click
'settings', then set monitor to never power down.
