If that's what it is, that's bad news. That is some of the most serious spyw*re out there. (Heck even if it's not, that's pretty aggravating I can imagine!) Tell them to look in the startup tab (MSCONFIG), (which I do not know how to get to in XP), and uncheck boxes not needed. He'll probably see an entry for it there. That's one way to keep it from loading with windows and running. Also look for it in 'add/remove programs' (or XP equivalent). I searched and did not find anything on any v*rus like this, so it's probably something like Tom mentioned, that either he added or (if the PC was bought from a name brand company), the company added.
Since you say he's "Computer challenged", it would be a good idea for him to check his PC for other types of sp*ware and have them removed. http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ -Clint God Bless Us All Clint Hamilton, Owner http://OrpheusComputing.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tom Phillips" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hi Rick, Maybe it is this big blue bird http://www.bonzi.com/support.htm Click the Maxalert button.
