I agree with you.  I have received several software packages in the past
with no hitches, etc.  The most recent two were full blown versions of Quick
and WordPerfect office.  Sometimes it's a marketing ploy to see if people
actually read ads, etc.

"Let's not look a gift horse in the mouth!"  We did not have to provide any
private information other than an email address.
