Clint, The problem is the way MS handles the update page - it is actually, as you have found, 2 different sites it would seem. I just did it myself to completely verify, and yes it is that way.
When you first go to the site, you are on the one web page for updates - but almost immediately, it opens this page that you have listed in your email, which is the one that MS has that does the work. So you had to set the security settings for both to avoid what you got initially. If you go to the update page from within a different browser than IE, such as Netscape, you immediately get sent to another web page that states you have to use IE to do updates for windows, and if you wanted to use another browser, you have to go to another page, which has the link highlighted. So the first is apparently just to detect which browser you are using, and to then send you to the appropriate site to actually be at.
