I personally have never heard of that before, but have you done the obvious like try the latest drivers and a different cable? Is it USB or parallel port? -Clint

As long as I've had this printer I've had a problem with loosing the connection to the printer. It happens randomly, with no warning. Sometimes it happens in the middle of a printing job and other times when the computer is just sitting idly with no jobs pending or even any computing being done. Out of the blue a window will pop up notifying me that the computer has lost the connection with the printer. When that happens a little yellow triangular icon appears in the task tray. I used to be able to click on that icon and it would do a "search" for the printer and reconnect. Now, it states it couldn't find the connection. The only way I can get the printer back online is to reboot. I couldn't find anything specific to this in the HP tech help site. Any ideas?
