In the hour of 11:42 AM 7/11/2003 +0100, John F spoke this:

My new computer has XP Pro installed.
I find it a bit too much to get through for my needs.
I am considering put the Home edition on.
Will I meet any snags doing this and could I have advise on the best wayto
do.
What is in my mind is would Home install over the top of Pro or might Pro
have to come off first.
If so whatwould be the best way.
THanks
John

The only way to go downgrade to the Home edition is to format the drive first and then install the Home edition. You cannot install the Home over the Pro.
Easier to live with the bells and whistles of Pro, even if you never use them you can still turn them off in the services area.
