Oh sorry to hear that Ralph. All the best to you. I have all sorts of
heart problems so I kind of know what it's like to have health issues
(right now I can hardly breath and my heart is stopping/PVC'ing, now a
daily event).

My hardware firewall is in my DLink DI-704 router. I also have XP's
firewall enabled, as well as running Sygate Pro. I used ZAP for while
(Zone Alarm Pro) and the regular version. It's ok, but it gives WAY too
many false alarms and is a major resource and memory hog. I used Outpost
for awhile but had some problems with it and XP I never could iron out.
Any of these are good software firewall programs but they are only as good
as their settings; which should be max'ed out. Both Outpost and Sygate
consume far less memory and resources than ZA/ZAP. I've never had any
conflicts I'm aware of with these and the XP firewall and router firewall,
except for that Outpost problem which was specifically Outpost (It's been a
while, but from what I recall I could not unload it and regardless of what
I did it was always loading at startup and in the background even when it
was disabled).

Keith, Hugh, and Clint,

Have various medical issues in my life, including some cancer problems,
which do not always allow me to get back to responses on the list like
would like - why you did not hear back before now.

I was wondering which firewall you might be using indivdidually???

I have the firewalls that comes with SystemSuite 5.0, from V-Com
(recently bought and upgraded from OnTract), which is basicly the
freebie from SyGate, as well as the Pro version of Internet Security
from Norton/Symantec to use, so basicly was looking at installing the
one from Norton in addition to the one in my Netgear router - just
wanted to make sure that there would be no conflicts.

After all the problems that were had with Zone Alarm, even though I had
purchased the pro version of there product, dont want to use again,
especially after what happened on a friend's system.
