I usually research these issues because my understanding is so limited. I felt very safe with just the router and AVG until I read Fred Langa's column that suggests the 'net is getting less safe every day. It's a belt and suspenders approach. I have also found that the miscellaneous free products have virtually no downside-i.e. no investment means no loss. ZA has been improved several times and has always gotten excellent ratings. I have clients who have bought into every scare tactic used by the big boys, and they have no greater security than I do. They really want a "set it and forget it" solution, and that isn't currently available. I personally wouldn't use any Norton product at all because of the many difficulties I've seen. The only answer that works for me is to read what the experts say and go with it. http://www.techweb.com/winmag/columns/explorer/2000/05.htm http://grc.com/zonealarm.htm http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/aboutUs/quotes.jsp *************************************************************************
Since I have the Pro version of Norton Internet Security, if you had it, would you use it in place of ZA free??? ============= PCWorks Mailing List ================= Don't see your post?
